The Glimmer Edit #2
A cozy January reset: beauty glimmers, travel daydreams, and small upgrades ✨
Hi there, and welcome to The Glimmer Edit #2 💫
Quick note: You’re receiving this because you previously subscribed on my blog www.lorna-ryan.com. The Glimmer Edit is my weekly Sunday email where I share “glimmers”, small finds and moments that make everyday life feel a little more special.
I had a fun weekend with friend time and pamper time. I went out to one of my favorite restaurants in Berkeley for dinner (Zaytoon) for Mediterranean, went to a friend’s very fancy baby shower, got a 2-hour massage, went out to dinner at a new restaurant in Berkeley (Lucia’s), saw a friend for brunch this Sunday, and did a little wandering around the Marina in San Francisco. I used to live in this neighborhood for years and I love going back on weekends. I hope you are keeping safe and warm this weekend with the crazy storm for some of the US.
💫 This Week’s Glimmers
1) Beauty Glimmer: Biodance Bio Collagen Real Deep Mask
This is such a good hydrating mask if your skin is feeling dry, tired, or just needs a little extra glow. The best way to use it is to leave it on for 3 hours if possible, which does sound a bit crazy, but I do it when I’m watching TV, reading a book, or just relaxing for the evening.
You can shop the Biodance Bio Collagen Real Deep Mask here.
It’s also nice that you can buy one for around $5, or buy a 4-pack for better value.
If you want to try a few different versions, I also love this set because you get four masks for different skin needs (pore care, hydration, calming, and dark spot treatment): Biodance Real Deep Mask Gift Set.
2) Beauty Glimmer: Peter Thomas Roth 24K Gold Mini Set
This set is amazing for brightening and under-eyes, and it’s one of those little skincare finds that feels so worth it. It’s a holiday gift set, so it’s currently on major sale (these are my favorite things to shop after Christmas).
It’s worth $83 and on sale for $27.30, and you can get an extra 20% off with code SALE20 today.
3) Fashion Glimmer: Colorful Fleeces for Evening Walks
I’ve been going on lots of walks lately, and I love having something cozy and warm that still feels cute. These colorful fleeces are perfect for that “quick evening walk” outfit where you want to be comfortable.
This pink one is so adorable and it’s only $24.99 (so reasonable).
If you prefer something a little higher quality, this one is from Faherty and is gorgeous. You can also use code LORNA20 for 20% off this fleece and all things Faherty.
4) Travel Glimmer: Tahiti + Bora Bora Daydreams
I’ve been staying local in San Francisco for January before many, many trips happen across 2026. I always love this one month for relaxing at home, cozy nights in, and catching up with friends.
One of my favorite trips we took last year was Tahiti and Bora Bora. If you’re planning a fancy trip this year (or just want to browse some beautiful pictures), I have lots of detail on where we stayed in Tahiti.
One thing that surprises people is that even if you’re going to Bora Bora, you fly into Tahiti first. All international flights land there, and then you take a regional flight to islands like Bora Bora. A lot of flights get in too late to transfer the same day, so a one-night stopover in Tahiti is usually needed.
I’ll be writing a Bora Bora guide soon and I’m so excited to share it with you.

5) Lifestyle Upgrade: Cozy Nights In
January is my favorite month for cozy nights in. Lighting candles, burning incense, taking long showers, and having at-home facial evenings are the best kinds of evenings.
One brand that I started using in 2020 and have loved ever since is Cozy Earth. Over time I’ve upgraded everything and now use their towels, bed sheets, duvets, and their award-winning cuddle blanket. Everything is so soft and cozy, and it genuinely makes home feel more luxurious.
You can shop Cozy Earth here and use my code CE-LORNA for 20% off everything.
6) Under-$50 Glimmer: Valentine’s Day Fragrance Sample Set
This is such a good find if you love fragrance or want to test out something new without spending too much. This limited edition Valentine’s Day set is $38, worth $60, and you get 9 fragrance samples to try.
Once you choose your favorite, there’s also a voucher included for a travel size fragrance of your choice, which makes it feel even more worth it. I love the LoveShackFancy fragrance included in this set, and I also love having smaller samples for popping in my handbag or packing for a weekend trip.
You can shop the fragrance set here.
7) Saved for Later: Red Light Mask
I’ve had my eye on a red light mask for a while now, and I think it might be my next big beauty purchase. They’ve gone viral recently, and I keep hearing such good things.
These are the two I’m debating:
If you have one and you love it, I would genuinely love your honest thoughts before I commit.
8) Wildcard Glimmer: A Weekend That Felt Really Good
My glimmer moment this week was having one of those weekends that felt like the perfect mix of everything I love. Good food, a little dressing up, time with friends, a long massage, and ending it with a simple brunch and a walk around the Marina. It reminded me how much the little plans and small moments can completely change your mood. A reminder to plan something fun for next weekend with a friend.
🧴 Beauty Tip of the Week
One of my biggest tips for smoother makeup (and less pilling) is letting your skincare fully settle before you apply any base products. I try to give it 15 minutes if I can.
I usually do my skincare first, then do my hair, get dressed, make breakfast, and then come back to do my makeup. It makes everything apply so much better and your skin looks more natural and glowy.
Thank you so much for being here 🤍
